Tap the call icon and then tap the speaker to switch to speakerphone. When using audio or video, the call starts with the earpiece.

- After connecting the call, tap on Speaker, located on the upper right of the screen.
- To change the volume, press the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone.
- Swipe down on the call banner to mute or hold the call.
- For more audio options, tap the audio button and select Speaker.
Checking and Troubleshooting the Speaker
How do I check my phone speaker on my iPhone?
- Go to Settings > Sounds (or Settings > Sounds & Haptics), and drag the Ringer and Alerts slider.
- If the speaker button is dimmed or no sound is heard, service may be needed.
- Turn off Silent mode and make sure Do Not Disturb is off.
- Remove obstructions from the speaker or receiver.
- If still experiencing sound issues, contact Apple Support.
Enabling Speakerphone
How do I turn my speakerphone on?
- Tap the "Speaker" button on your screen, which has a picture of a speaker. This button appears during calls on Android or iPhone.
- If using a landline, press the speaker icon button to activate speakerphone.
- To disable the default speakerphone setting on iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing and select Automatic.
